Lawn Hunters

About Lawn Hunters

Wilmer wakes early, the freight yards already humming and the sky over the blackland prairie going pink and enormous the way only flat country allows. Lawn Hunters is on the road by then, mowers loaded, first yard cut before the heat sets in. Grass taken even, a fresh edge along the sidewalk, the trimmer through the fence line, the drive cleared behind them. This prairie soil grows grass with real vigor, and a schedule is the one thing that keeps pace with it. A tight yard on a wide-open street reads from a block away.
