160 Lawn & Timber

About 160 Lawn & Timber

Whitewright sits where the blackland prairie begins to roll, the old rail line still cutting through town and the grain elevator standing over all of it. 160 Lawn & Timber works these streets and the places around them on a rhythm the black clay dictates — fast growth after a wet spell, a hard slow-down when the ground cracks open in August. Trimming along fences and foundations, edging where sidewalk meets grass, clippings cleared off the concrete: those details are what turn a cut yard into a kept one. Fall arrives here as light before it arrives as temperature, and that is when the cleanups start. A property that has been mowed right simply looks calm, and that is most of the reason to do it.
