About Alexander’s Investments

The Colorado River makes its slow green turn at the edge of Wharton, and the mornings that come off it are soft and heavy with river air. That is the hour Alexander's Investments likes best — mower still cold, dew standing on every blade, a yard waiting to be given a shape. Mowing, edging, string trimming, the clippings blown off the walk until the concrete reads pale against the grass. By the time the heat leans up from the south, the lines are laid down straight and the edges are cut sharp enough to hold a shadow. Lawn care on this stretch of the Gulf plain is a long conversation with a long growing season, and this is one crew that keeps up its end of it.
