Lawn Tailors

About Lawn Tailors

By late May a Webster lawn has real body to it, thick enough to hold a mower line the way fabric holds a crease. Lawn Tailors treats it that way — mowing to an even height, edging seams along walks and beds, trimming the corners a deck cannot reach. There is measuring in it: knowing which yards want a lower cut and which will scalp, where the water runs after a coastal downpour, how a stripe lays against afternoon light. The result is a yard that fits the house, hemmed at every edge. Webster and its neighbors, from Nassau Bay down to Dickinson, wear it well.
