Trim Stars

About Trim Stars

Summer evenings run long in Weatherford: the ballfield lights come up over Cartwright Park, the cicadas finally quit, and the sky opens deep and wide with stars. Trim Stars often finishes a route in that last stretch of light, when the heat lets go and cut grass smells strongest. The name is about the trimming, and trimming is where a yard is won, along fence lines and mailbox posts, at the base of every tree, down the strip beside the drive the mower can never quite claim. Mowing and edging come first, the blower comes last, and nothing in between gets skipped. A yard trimmed all the way out to its corners is one nobody has to apologize for.
