About Heavy's Landscaping & Tree Services

When a squall line comes across the prairie from the west, the post oaks and old pecans around Van Alstyne pay for it, and by morning there are limbs down across driveways and fences. Heavy's Landscaping & Tree Services shows up for that morning — cutting and clearing the fallen wood, taking out the hangers, opening the drive so a truck can get out. The rest of the calendar is landscaping and lawn work: mowing, edging, trimming, shaping beds and keeping trees pruned back off roofs before the next storm gets ideas. There is a plain pride in a big tree properly thinned and a yard raked clean underneath it, the light coming through in patches on the grass. Big work, quiet result.
