Caraway's Curb Appeal

About Caraway's Curb Appeal

Everything a Van Alstyne house says about itself, it says in the twenty feet between the street and the porch. Caraway's Curb Appeal builds its work around that stretch: the mow that runs even to the sidewalk, the edge cut sharp where turf meets concrete, the bed line held in a clean curve instead of a smudge. On the older blocks near downtown, where the sidewalks are narrow and shade trees lean over the parking, that detail is the difference between a yard and a kept yard. The crew works the front last on purpose, so the final look of the place is the one they leave behind. It is a small vanity, and it is honest.
