Nando's Service

About Nando's Service

By evening the grain elevator throws a shadow long enough to reach halfway across Tulia, and the cotton rows west of town go the color of a struck match. Nando's Service is often still out in that light, finishing a yard — the last pass of the mower, the trimmer around the mailbox post, the driveway blown clean so the concrete shows again. Lawns here grow between the wind and the rain and need a steady hand more than a fancy one, and steady is the whole trade. Swisher County houses sit close to a lot of open ground, which makes a kept yard read like an announcement: someone lives here, and they mean it. There is real pride in pulling away from a place that looks better than it did an hour ago.
