Very Good Lawn Service

About Very Good Lawn Service

By December the pecans along the Bosque River Trail have let go of everything they had, and Stephenville's lawns go the color of a paper sack, dormant and resting and still asking to be tended. Very Good Lawn Service stays with them: leaf cleanup and hauling, cutting the beds back, a low winter mow that sets a yard up for the green rush that comes in March. Late afternoon light lies flat and yellow across the Cross Timbers, and a raked lawn takes that light well, edges clean, nothing left scattered on the walk. Then spring turns over and the mowing and trimming start again on a weekly rhythm that carries right through until the heat finally breaks. Around Stephenville, Chalk Mountain, Bluff Dale and Hico, the year turns and the work turns with it.
