Four Star Agricenter

About Four Star Agricenter

Out in Jones County the horizon does most of the talking, and Stamford answers back with mesquite, wheat stubble and a sky that turns copper by seven o'clock. Four Star Agricenter works lawns on the terms the rolling plains set: cut before the heat stacks up, run the edge along the walk until the line is true, and leave a yard that can hold its shape through a long dry July. There is a plain pride in that shorn stripe beside a caliche drive with dust hanging gold over the section road. When the north wind finally strips the mesquite bare, the cleanup crews come back through and the yards go into winter tidy. It is ordinary work, done well, in a town that has never needed anything fancy.
