About Yu

The town was named for its springs, and something of that still holds at dusk, when the heat lets go and every cut lawn in Springtown starts giving off that green smell all at once. Yu likes finishing at that hour: the last blow-down of the walks, the porch lights coming on, the fresh mowing lines running away toward the fence. The day's work is straightforward — mow, trim the fence lines and corners, edge the concrete, clear the clippings — and the pleasure of it is in how completely a plain yard changes shape once the borders are sharp. Parker County evenings are long and forgiving, good for one more lot done right rather than fast. A homeowner coming home to that has the whole quiet week ahead of them.
