James's Lawncare

About James's Lawncare

Summer along the Guadalupe means inner tubes turning slowly under the bald cypress, water cold enough to gasp at, and a sun that owns the Hill Country by noon. James's Lawncare looks after yards in Spring Branch through that long blaze, when the grass surges after a rain and then sulks through the heat. The sensible mowing hour out here comes early, while the light is still low and soft and the cicadas have not yet started their racket. A lawn cut right in July, not scalped and not left ragged, holds its color better through the dry stretches, and that patience shows. Come evening, when folks drift home from the river with sunburned shoulders, a neat yard is a fine thing to pull up to.
