A's Lawn Service

About A's Lawn Service

Out where the rolling plains start leaning toward the caprock, Snyder mornings arrive without warning — there are no hills to slow the sun down, so the light simply lands, all at once, on cotton turnrows and caliche drives. A's Lawn Service does its mowing in that first cool stretch, while the mesquite still throws a little shade and the grass cuts clean. Edging is where the work announces itself out here: a straight border drawn against red dirt reads from halfway down the block. Trimming around fence posts, mailboxes and the base of a mesquite takes the kind of patience the plains tend to repay. By the time the afternoon heat stacks up over Scurry County, the yard is cut, the walks are swept, and the whole place holds its shape under a very big sky.
