The first real cool front drops down out of Oklahoma in November, and within a week the pecans over Sherman start letting go all at once. TraditionalLawnCare meets that turn with the old unglamorous routine: mow while the grass still asks for it, rake and clear the leaves off the turf, cut the edges back, and leave the yard breathing before winter. There is nothing new about the method — a straight line, a sharp blade, a lawn cleared corner to corner — and that is exactly the point of the name. Autumn light in North Texas is thin and generous at the same time, and a swept, level yard standing under it is a fine thing to hand back to someone. The work is done in Sherman and out to Van Alstyne, Bells and Collinsville.
