DUCKWORTH LANDSCAPING

About DUCKWORTH LANDSCAPING

Down in the Cibolo Creek bottoms the pecans hold on stubbornly and then let go all at once, and for a few weeks in November the yards on that side of Schertz are ankle-deep in gold and brown. Leaf cleanup here is real labor and real pleasure both — raking out from under shrubs, clearing the beds back to bare mulch, hauling the piles away before the next rain packs them down into a mat. The rest of the year runs on mowing, edging, bed shaping, mulch refreshes and the general keeping of a landscape in order. A yard that has been cleared properly in the fall wakes up faster in March, and that is the kind of result worth working toward. Come dusk the creek line goes blue behind the trees and the lawn underneath is finally visible again.
