Grippe's Excavating & Landscape

About Grippe's Excavating & Landscape

Along the Old Bastrop Highway the ground changes underfoot every quarter mile — black gumbo one place, a limestone ledge sitting an inch under the turf the next. Grippe's Excavating & Landscape works with what each lot actually is, mowing to suit thin soil in one corner and deep clay in another. The routine is mowing, edging, trimming, bed upkeep and hauling off what the day produces, on a schedule that does not drift. Ruts and scalped high spots are the two things this dirt punishes, and both are avoided by knowing the ground before the wheels touch it. A yard cut level across uneven country is quiet proof somebody paid attention.
