The Friendly Neighbor

About The Friendly Neighbor

There is an hour in San Marcos, just past supper, when the heat lifts off the pavement and the whole street steps outside — and a yard that has been mowed that day looks its best in exactly that light. The Friendly Neighbor works the settled blocks of town, the ones with wide lawns, chain-link and a mature shade tree apiece, where people notice when the grass gets ahead of somebody. The job is honest and simple: mowing on a set schedule, edging where turf has crawled onto the sidewalk, trimming what the mower cannot reach, and every clipping blown back off the walk. Some of these lawns belong to folks who cannot manage the push mower anymore, and keeping theirs looking like everyone else's on the block is the whole point. Seasonal cleanups take care of what fall and spring leave behind.
