Juan’s Lawns

About Juan’s Lawns

Spring mornings in San Juan start with noise — chachalacas arguing in somebody's ebony tree, green jays raiding a feeder, the first mowers of the day. Juan's Lawns is out in it, cutting the modest front yards and deep backyards that make up so much of this town, trimming close around the chain link and edging the sidewalk into a straight seam. Small yards reward care more than big ones do; every mistake shows, and so does every bit of attention. The clippings go, and the house looks looked-after from the street. Simple work, done kindly, on a street full of neighbors.
