About Travis Turf Company

August in San Antonio is a long, bright furnace, with afternoons pushing toward triple digits and cicadas droning from every shade tree. Travis Turf Company keeps the city's turf cut and edged through that heat, when Bermuda and St. Augustine grow hard and fast under a relentless sun. The reward comes after sundown, when the air cools a few degrees and the Tower of the Americas glows above downtown. Out in the neighborhoods, a fresh-mown lawn gives up a green, sweet smell into the dusk. That is the summer evening this work aims for: grass even, edges sharp, a yard ready for a chair and a cold drink.
