Sombrero Lawns

About Sombrero Lawns

In July the cicadas start up at midday, the pavement hands back everything the sun gave it, and the only sensible shade on the block is under somebody's pecan tree. Sombrero Lawns works with that heat instead of fighting it — early routes, water in the cooler, mowing at a height that keeps the roots covered, edging and trimming, and clippings swept off the drive before the truck rolls on. Across the mid-town neighborhoods, the lawns that make it through a San Antonio August are the ones that were cut right back in June. Come the first cool morning in October, those same yards come roaring back thick. Steady hands, steady weeks, and shade earned at the end of the route.
