About A-Affordable Lawn & Tree Co.

South of downtown, where the old acequia still runs toward Mission Espada, the live oaks and cedar elms have had generations to spread themselves out. A-Affordable Lawn & Tree Co. keeps the ground beneath them tended and the canopy above it in order — mowing and lawn care through the growing months, tree trimming in the still weeks of January when branches show their real architecture. Winter light down there comes in long and low, and a tree thinned properly throws a cleaner shadow across the grass. The work is unglamorous and it shows the next morning: lawn cut even, deadwood down and gone, the sidewalk clear overhead. Plenty of yards need both at once, and it's good to be able to hand back both.
