ABC Home & Commercial Services - Lawn Care Department

About ABC Home & Commercial Services - Lawn Care Department

San Antonio spreads out along its highways — I-10 running west toward the hills, 281 climbing north, 35 heading up the corridor — and the lawn care department at ABC Home & Commercial Services runs its routes along those same spokes. Trucks roll early in July, because Bermuda grows hardest in the week after a rain and because nobody wants a mower at noon in a Texas summer. The department handles mowing, edging, string trimming and the seasonal cleanup that keeps a lawn from getting away from a household. What stands out at the end of a route day is the sameness, in the good sense: every property cut to the same height, every edge held to the same line. A city this size is really just a great many yards, taken one at a time.
