About Bob Short's LawnEnvy

Morning comes early along the old rail spine of Royse City, the tracks running east past brick storefronts left over from the cotton-and-freight days. Bob Short's LawnEnvy starts about then, when the dew is still heavy enough to hold a wheel track and Bermuda cuts sweet instead of dusty. The work is mowing, edging, string trimming, hedge and shrub trimming, and blowing the walks back to bare concrete — and it is the edge that does it, that thin dark seam between grass and pavement that makes a whole yard look intentional. By the time the sun clears the water tower and the heat turns serious, another block is behind him. A yard worth envying is mostly just a yard somebody bothered to finish properly.
