Tree Loving Care

About Tree Loving Care

On the South Plains around Ropesville, nearly every tree was planted by somebody on purpose. The land runs flat to the edge of sight, all cotton rows and center pivots, and the wind crosses it with nothing to slow it but the shelterbelts and yard trees people have nursed along. Tree Loving Care tends those trees and the lawns beneath them, pruning and trimming so a Hockley County tree can stand up to spring dust storms, summer heat and the odd winter ice. A well-shaped crown lets the wind pass through instead of tearing limbs away, and shade earned that way is precious out here. Late in the day, when the sky goes enormous and orange over the Llano Estacado, a healthy tree throwing a long shadow across a mown yard looks like a quiet victory over the plains.
