Fresh Lawns

About Fresh Lawns

When a Gulf system finally reaches this far up the river, Roma turns green almost overnight and everything dormant decides to grow at once. Fresh Lawns is built for that stretch — the September weeks when a yard needs cutting again before the last cut has dried. Mowing, string trimming, edging and clearing the cuttings, done often enough that the grass never gets ahead of anyone. Between rains the work eases off, and that back-and-forth is the whole rhythm of keeping turf in deep South Texas. A level, tidy lawn after a wet spell is the plainest evidence a place is being tended.
