Nichols Mowing

About Nichols Mowing

Midday in a Rockwall July: cicadas winding up in the elms, heat coming off the asphalt in sheets, and somewhere down the block a deck running. Nichols Mowing is a mowing outfit and says so plainly — a clean cut at the right height, edges run true along walk, drive and curb, trimmer work close in where the mower cannot reach, and the concrete blown down before the trailer gate goes up. They hold an interval, so the lawn never gets away from them and the clippings never have to be bagged. In the cool months the route slows and turns to leaf work and a last cut of the year. Straight lines, week in and week out.
