Turfco Grass Farms

About Turfco Grass Farms

Out where the sandy loam runs toward the Nueces bottoms, the sod fields outside Robstown are cut at first light, when the dew is still holding the blades upright. Turfco Grass Farms lives close to grass in its rawest form — sod and turf grass, lawn installation, and the mowing and maintenance that follows a new lawn through its first hard summer. Coastal Bend heat tests fresh turf within days, so laying it tight, watering it in and cutting it right early on decides everything that comes after. There is honestly nothing better than the smell of a field the morning it is harvested. And there is nothing quite like standing on a yard that was bare dirt on Monday and is solid green by Friday.
