Dwayne's Landscape Service

About Dwayne's Landscape Service

North of town the post oaks hold the fog a little longer than the open ground does, and that is usually when Dwayne's Landscape Service is already unloading. The soil out this way runs sandy and quick to dry, so the grass tells you plainly what it needs and when — a lesson learned one Roanoke yard at a time. Mowing, trimming, shrub work, fertilization, weed control and cleanups make up most weeks, done at a pace that lets a person notice things. There is real satisfaction in a hedge squared up true, in a lawn that holds its color into the long Texas heat. By midmorning the mist is off the oaks and the block looks tended, which is the quiet reason for all of it.
