South Texas Roots

About South Texas Roots

In late February the huisache around Riviera breaks into yellow bloom, and for a few weeks the brush country smells faintly of honey before the heat settles in for good. South Texas Roots does lawn care close to the ground in this land of caliche, mesquite and stubborn native grasses. A yard here survives by sending its roots down deep, and regular mowing, trimming and attention help it do exactly that. Early mornings bring the only real cool of a Riviera summer day, a short gray window when dew sits on the blades and doves call from the power lines. Afterward the lawn stands even and green, rooted in the same hard country as everything else in town.
