About Turf Surfers LLC

Ten miles down the highway from Richwood the road gives out at the Gulf, and the wind that comes back inland carries salt over every lawn in this part of Brazoria County. Turf Surfers LLC cuts in that wind, laying stripes across a yard the way swell lines cross open water, then edging the borders until they hold their shape. Late day is the hour for it — heat loosening, light coming in low, the fresh-cut smell rising off a lawn that was shaggy an hour before. Salt and sun are hard on coastal turf, so the trimming and the cleanup matter every bit as much as the mow. The route takes in Richwood, Clute, Lake Jackson, Oyster Creek, Freeport and Surfside Beach.
