About Grassland Lawn Services

A piece of the real Blackland prairie still stands at Crowley Park — little bluestem, coneflower, the tall grass this whole county wore before the plows came. Grassland Lawn Services works a tamer version of it a few streets over, but the soil is the same deep black stuff and it behaves the same way: greedy after rain, cracked wide in drought. Mowing here is mostly height and timing — never scalping bermuda in July, cutting often enough that the clippings can fall back and feed the ground. Add edging along the walks, trimming at the fence and the meter box, weed control in the beds, and the clean blow-down that makes the whole thing look intentional. Grass tended right is a crop, and a Richardson yard can carry a whole summer on it.
