Zavala's Lawn Service

About Zavala's Lawn Service

Rice sits out on the blackland between Ennis and Corsicana, where the fields run to the horizon and the interstate hums past a long mile of crops. Zavala's Lawn Service keeps the town's yards on schedule — mowing, edging, string trimming, weeds taken out of the beds and walks, and the cut grass swept off before the truck pulls away. That black gumbo grows grass fast after a rain and cracks wide open when it dries, so the mowing answers to both moods. Late summer evenings here go long and gold, and a freshly cut lawn against all that flat land looks like an act of order. Navarro County is spread out; the route just runs a little farther.
