Captain Lawn Service keeps lawns cut and trimmed in this fishing town, where a southeast wind blows most afternoons and leaves a fine film of salt on every windshield. Grass here grows in sandy soil between boat trailers and shell-paved drives, and keeping a yard sharp takes patience when the wind is pushing clippings sideways. The mower leaves the turf even, the trimmer follows the fence posts, and the blower sends the drive back to bare shell. On summer weekends, when trucks and trailers line up at the ramps in the dark, a tidy yard is a good thing to come home to.
