Sykes and Son Lawn Service

About Sykes and Son Lawn Service

On the west side of Lake Livingston, Point Blank lives under tall loblolly pines, and the evening light comes off the water in long gold bars between the trunks. Sykes and Son Lawn Service cuts and trims grass in this small San Jacinto County town, where grass has to share the ground with pine straw, sandy soil and the roots of old trees. A good cut here means working around all of it: string-trimming close to trunks, edging the drive, blowing needles off walks and porch steps. Summers run long and humid, and the lawns answer with steady growth from April well into October. Keep up with it, and a lakeside yard in Point Blank becomes the kind of place you want to sit out in as the sun goes down.
