John’s Lawnmower Service

About John’s Lawnmower Service

February in Plano is a coin flip — an ice morning one week, a seventy-degree afternoon the next — and it is that second kind of day when the mowers come out of the garage and flatly refuse to start. John's Lawnmower Service works the bench side of lawn care: mower repair and tune-ups, blade sharpening, and getting equipment running again for the season ahead. A sharp blade cuts grass instead of tearing it, and a north Texas Bermuda lawn shows the difference inside of a week. There is a particular pleasure in a machine catching on the first pull after a winter of sitting in the dark. By March the shop has handed half the neighborhood back its Saturdays.
