The Tree Guy

About The Tree Guy

Winter tells the truth about a tree. With the leaves gone — up along the hardwood and pine edges toward Pat Mayse Lake, or in a plain front yard on the north side of Paris — you can finally see the crossing branches, the deadwood, the weight leaning out over a roof. That is when The Tree Guy does the cutting: trimming and pruning, deadwood taken out, hazardous limbs dropped, whole trees removed when they are past saving, and the yard raked clean afterward. Cold, bright, quiet, the saw carrying out over the fields, the brush stacked and gone before dark. Come April the tree leafs out into a better shape than it had, and no one remembers why — which is exactly the idea.
