About Black Hat Lawn Care Co.

Paris set a red cowboy hat on top of its Eiffel Tower, which tells you most of what you need to know about this town's sense of itself. Black Hat Lawn Care Co. works the same stretch of Lamar County with that mix of plainness and swagger — mowing, edging, string trimming, and clearing the cuttings off drives and walks. Summer comes down hard by nine in the morning here, so the trailer rolls early and the last yard gets finished while the shade still means something. A lawn cut on a straight line, corners squared, nothing left in the flower beds: small things, done the way they ought to be. When fall turns the pecans loose, the same truck comes back for the leaves.
