By the time the last trailer gate swings shut, the sky over Orange has gone the color of a wet oyster shell and the first stars are out over the river. Lawn Stars Construction and Maintenance works the daylight hard to get there — cutting, edging and trimming across yards and properties in town and along the county roads. Maintenance here means staying ahead of a growing season that runs from early March to Thanksgiving and sometimes past it, plus hedge work, bed cleanup and clearing overgrowth from lots that got away.
