About Allens landscaping

Fog lifts off Adams Bayou early, soft as smoke, and it is usually gone by the time the first yard of the day is finished. Allens landscaping works that early window in Orange, cutting while the grass still holds the night's water. Southeast Texas hands a lawn nine or ten growing months, so the job here is rhythm more than rescue — an even cut, a straight edge along the walk, clippings blown back off the drive. Beds get their trim and hedges their shape, and the yard goes back to its owner looking like somebody paid attention to the corners. Ordinary work, done week after week, on the Texas bank of the river.
