US 190 runs east through Onalaska with the long bridge at its back, and midmorning the traffic thins out to boat trailers and feed trucks. JRC Lawn works the yards along that corridor and the roads that spin off it, where a lot can be a tight town square of grass or an acre sloping away toward the pines.
