Big Hat Lawn

About Big Hat Lawn

Out on the Blackland Prairie south of Austin, Mustang Ridge lives under the kind of sky that makes a wide brim feel like common sense. At midday in August the sun presses straight down on the dark clay, and Big Hat Lawn works right through it, mowing and trimming until each yard lies flat and even. Grass here leaps up whenever the rain comes and sulks when it doesn't, so a steady schedule matters. A finished lawn on this open ground shows from the road, its edges straight against the horizon. That clean look carries a long way.
