Before the sun clears the blackland prairie, the grass around Moody holds a whole night's worth of dew, and the first pass of a mower cuts a dark stripe through all that silver. A Cut Above works the yards along Highway 317 and the farm roads running north toward Waco and south toward Troy — mowing, edging, string trimming around fence posts and mailboxes, then blowing the walks clean before pulling away. Central Texas summers here are long and unrelenting, so a lawn kept even through July is a small act of stubbornness. What matters most is the edge: one clean line where the Bermuda stops and the driveway starts, sharp enough to read from the road. Town lot or a couple of acres out past the last streetlight, the job ends the same — swept, squared and quiet.
