The Lawn Ranger RGV

About The Lawn Ranger RGV

Before six, the chachalacas start up in the brush toward Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park and the whole Valley wakes loud. The Lawn Ranger RGV is out in that racket, tailgate down, cutting Mission lawns while the grass is still cool and the green jays are working the mesquite. Mowing, edging, string trimming along fences and mailbox posts, then everything raked and blown clear so the drive is spotless when the truck pulls away. Winter here never stops the grass entirely, so the route keeps rolling when other places have put the mowers up. A tight edge on a Mission yard in January is a small and genuine pleasure.
