Texas Cherry Lawns

About Texas Cherry Lawns

June evenings here stretch out long — crape myrtle in bloom, the first fireflies working the grass, somebody's sprinkler running two doors down. Texas Cherry Lawns has usually finished by then: mowed, edged, trimmed, walks and drive blown off, the truck already loaded. Melissa sits high enough on the blackland to catch whatever breeze the prairie sends, and it moves nicely across a lawn cut short and even. Doing the same yard week after week teaches you its low spot, its shady corner, the strip by the mailbox that always wants a second pass. That is where a good-looking result actually comes from. Around Melissa the route takes in Anna, Van Alstyne and McKinney.
