About Firehouse Lawn Services

August in McGregor is one long bright afternoon that refuses to end — crape myrtles blooming hard along Main, the pavement holding its heat well past dark, the prairie gone the color of a paper bag. Firehouse Lawn Services runs early and late around all that, mowing at the ends of the day when grass and people both stand a better chance. The round is mowing, edging along walks and drives, string-trimming around trees, posts and beds, and blowing everything off the sidewalk and driveway. Cutting height rises with the heat so the roots keep their shade and the lawn holds through the dry weeks. When the first cool front arrives in September, the yards that were kept all summer are the ones that green back up first.
