About South Texas SuperScapes

Evening in downtown McAllen belongs to the grackles, who fill the trees along 17th Street and argue with each other until the streetlights come on. South Texas SuperScapes likes that hour for the last job of the day, when the light goes long and low and every hedge line shows precisely how straight it was cut. Their work is shaping as much as cutting: mowing and edging, then shrub and hedge trimming that gives an ordinary front yard a clear architecture. Oleander gets taken back before it leans over the walk, the turf gets an even pass, and the beds are swept clear of clippings before anyone packs up. Then the truck heads out under a sky the color of ripe grapefruit, one more property left in order.
