Great-Scapes Turf & Pest

About Great-Scapes Turf & Pest

By August the blackland soil around Maypearl opens into cracks you could slide a pocketknife into, and a lawn has to be carried through the heat rather than simply cut. Great-Scapes Turf & Pest looks after turf in this corner of Ellis County, mowing, trimming and tending grass that has to live on prairie clay. The finish is a clean line where the grass meets the sidewalk, sharp enough to read from a truck window on the way past. Then the first September rain darkens the ground, the smell of wet earth lifts off the fields, and the yard is still there, green and ready to answer. This is turf care shaped by a town that knows exactly what a Texas summer asks of the ground.
