Wilson Fellers Tree Service

About Wilson Fellers Tree Service

October in the Piney Woods turns the hardwoods loose — sweetgum going scarlet between the pines, hickory the color of a brass lamp, Lufkin's older streets gold at the curb by mid-morning. Wilson Fellers Tree Service is out in it with saws and rope, removing the storm-cracked water oak before winter finds the weakness, trimming clearance over drives and mailboxes, pruning so a shade tree spends its growth where the homeowner wants it. This is timber country, and there is a particular satisfaction in bringing a big stem down in the exact spot you promised it would land. After a squall line, the day turns to dragging and loading: limbs off the fence, ruts avoided, the lawn left to grow back over the whole event. Around here a tidy yard under tall pines is the local idea of order.
