The Right Way

About The Right Way

There is a geometry to a well-kept yard: mow lines running parallel, the edge along the walk cut to a single crisp seam, corners turned square instead of rounded off. The Right Way takes its name seriously and holds to it on Lufkin lawns, from the brick-fronted blocks downtown to the newer streets out past the loop. Mowing, edging, string trimming, hedges shaped, and every walk and drive swept down with the blower before the trailer gate goes back up. Shortcuts always reveal themselves later — a scalped rise, a ragged fence line, a bed line that wandered off course — so they simply are not taken. What gets left behind is a yard that looks deliberate from the street.
