Badass Mowing & Landscape

About Badass Mowing & Landscape

By one o'clock in July the pavement out here gives back everything the sun handed it, the cicadas take over the mesquites, and most of Lubbock has gone indoors. Badass Mowing & Landscape is still in it — mowing, edging, trimming, cutting the beds back into shape while the heat sits on the whole county like a flat hand. It takes a certain stubbornness to keep a yard green in a place that sees barely a foot and a half of rain a year, and stubbornness is the local resource. The payoff comes near sundown, when the ground finally cools and a freshly cut lawn throws its smell out over the fence. That is the entire point of the long afternoon.
